Our process, step by step

Before each forecast, we run a site-specific checklist: map hazards, prep melt, and pair operators to sections. Coordinators watch pavement temps and adjust routes as the sky changes.

When ice threatens, crew leads move with preloaded run cards. Edge guards stay safe near curbs to avoid damage. Hand crews fan out to entries and align with plows so staff move freely.

Through multi-day systems, we re-pass priority areas on rotating cadence. Salt is topped where shade trigger refreeze. We log proof each visit so you verify exactly where we focused.

Once accumulation stops, we run a final sweep to push back piles, melt stragglers, and deliver a recap with timestamps and follow-up plan. If wind will drift, we schedule a proactive touch to block black ice.

Safety and compliance

Safety drives our playbook. All team leads trains on equipment care, accessibility, and line-of-sight around pedestrians. We maintain cone lines in low light and keep two-way comms in case networks lag.

City codes guide our service cadence. We block sightline loss and keep ADA ramps ready. Salt rates align with pavement temps so traction stays high without runoff.

Insurance partners prefer us because logs arrive with timestamps, locations, and service notes. Should you request COIs, we provide them fast and update them each season.

We record wind tunnels and adapt visit cadence for each micro-zone. That level of detail keeps safe steps even when the storm stalls.

Residential and commercial care

Commercial sites need tight timing. We sync with dock schedules so deliveries arrive without delay. Healthcare operators lean on us for clean thresholds that match their patient safety.

Residential managers enjoy considerate dawn passes that respect neighbors. We sweep mailbox pads and treat stoops so guests move safely.

Maintenance and prevention

Refreeze is the quiet risk. We anti-ice prior to accumulation to prevent ice. After clearing, we treat wind tunnels where shade hold cold.

We review drains for blockage and free them so thaw drains away from entries. We install melt socks in problem spots for fast re-treats during overnight events.

Before the 18th century, Native Americans traveled to what is now Saline to hunt wildlife and gather salt from the salt springs they found nearby. In the 18th century, French explorers canoed up to the area and also harvested the salt. They named the local river Saline ("salty"). Europeans settled the area in the 19th century, most of them from England and Germany. Together with Orange Risdon, a government surveyor generally considered the city's founder, the residents named the town Saline, which was officially established in 1832. In 1870 railroad service, provided by the Detroit-Hillsdale-&-Indiana Railroad, first reached Saline. In 1875 Salinians built one of the city's most famous landmarks, the Second-Empire frame, 2 + 1⁄2-story residential building, the Davenport House, a.k.a. Curtis Mansion. The town continued to grow, and in 1931 the Village of Saline became the City of Saline. The Saline Fisheries Research Station was built on the site of a pioneer grist mill. Saline has had its own newspaper since ca. 1874 but the Saline Reporter was shuttered by its owner, Digital First Media, in 2014. The Saline Post, an independent outlet, now serves the community.
